Satta Matka is a number-guessing game with roots in 1960s India. The name combines two ideas: satta, meaning a wager, and matka, the earthen pot from which numbers were once drawn at random. The goal is simple — pick numbers and combinations, and if the declared result matches your selection, you win an amount fixed by the bet type.

Matka began as speculation on cotton rates that were relayed from the New York Cotton Exchange to the Bombay Cotton Exchange. The Basics of Matka
A result is built from digits 0–9. Three digits form a pana (for example 128), and each market declares an open pana and a close pana. Add the three digits of a pana and keep the last digit, and you get its single-digit ank. Put the open and close anks together and you get the two-digit jodi.
